Our Certified Director Maggie first joined Sweet Adelines in 1967 and the Arundelair Chorus was her early home. She sings bass in the award winning quartet, Capri. Now she has returned and is directing the Arundelair Chorus.
Since her first exposure to the barbershop style, Maggie has continued ringing chords throughout the years - in other choruses, in other competing quartets, and with "Git, Gut 'N Us" - a group which includes her husband, Wes, playing the washtub bass!
In her other life, Maggie is a wife, mother, and grandmother of 7. She has owned and operated "Hangups" (a picture framing business) in her home since 1988. Retirement has never seriously crossed her mind. Maggie enjoys playing baritone ukulele by ear and wants you to ask her about the "theremin"!
Maggie has passed all the requirements to be recognized by Sweet Adelines International as a "certified director", which credits her with knowin' what she's doin'. She brings a love of barbershop singing, enthusiasm, energy, and a well-trained ear to the Arundelair Chorus.
