Our Certified Director Smile

Maggie first joined Sweet Adelines in 1967 and the Arundelair Chorus was her early home.  Now directing Arundelair, she also sings with HCMC (the Harbor City Music Company Show Chorus) and is the bass in the 2011 Third Place International Quartet, CAPRI.

Since her first exposure to the barbershop style, Maggie has continued ringing chords throughout the years - in other choruses, in other competing quartets, and with "Git, Gut 'N Us" - a group which includes her husband, Wes, playing the washtub bass!

In her other life, Maggie is a wife, mother, and grandmother of 7.  She has owned and operated "Hangups" (a picture framing business) in her home since 1988.  Retirement has never seriously crossed her mind.   Maggie enjoys playing baritone ukulele by ear and wants you to ask her about the "Theremin"!

Although Maggie still qualifies as a novice director, she has passed all the requirements to be recognized by Sweet Adelines International as a "certified director".  She brings a love of barbershop singing, enthusiasm, energy, and a well-trained ear to the Arundelair Chorus.
